SHOPPING IN THE CITY OF LIGHT IN PARIS !

If you love to shop, then Paris is for you. If you are a shopaholic then Paris is dangerous. In fact, according to one Parisian friend, even those who hate shopping, enjoy shopping in Paris. Don’t be put off thinking that it’s all about Haute Couture and expensive designer, no-go stores. Paris has a shop for absolutely everybody. Yes, there are some amazing (and amazingly expensive) designer boutiques, but there are also flea and antique markets (around 58 markets in total throughout the city), beautiful bookstores where you can while away hours, department stores, flower stalls, and of course food shopping… the marvellous boulangeries (bakeries), fromageries (cheese shops) and boucheries (butchers). Definitely don’t miss the Saint Ouen Flea Market (Porte de Clignancourt), a wonderful sprawling flea market, where you can pick up almost anything. If designer labels are more your style, the Haute Couture home can be found around the Rue Faubourg Sain-Honoré, Avenue Montaigne, La Place de la Madeliene, Saint-Sulpice and Sévres-Babylone – ok so there are quite a few upmarket designer boutique areas! If you are short of time and want to do a one off stop then Paris isn’t short of a department store or two: Bon Marché, Galeries Lafayettes, Samaritaine, Printemps and the Bazar de l’Hôtel de Ville have all got great selections and great facilities. Enjoy a shop till your drop experience in the city staying in one of our fabulous holiday apartments in Paris. You’ll save money and a holiday apartment is more flexible. Leaving you more time and money to shop, shop, shop !
