The most popular area of Seville is called Barrio Santa Cruz and since it is the heart of Seville, this is where the tourists come to enjoy the atmosphere, the local tapas bars, restaurants and bars and this is also where you find Seville's largest tourist attraction: the cathedral.
Barrio Santa Cruz is actually the old Jewish quarter of Seville, but nobody knows it as the Jewish Quarter. Instead it is now the main tourist area in Seville and this is where you go if you're on city break in Seville.
Barrio Santa Cruz is deeply charming with small alleys and narrow streets and almost no traffic and here you also find a lot of souvenir shops, if you need to bring any memories back home from your holiday.
Seville is a city of traditions and the Santa Cruz Quarter offer lots of cozy restaurants and tapas bars and they are all charmingly decorated in their own Andalusian style that makes their guests feel at home. The food is gorgeous and the prices are very reasonable.
On C/ Rodrigo Caro, next to the Cathedral, you'll find Bodega Santa Cruz, or Las Columnas as the locals calls it and here we can also recommend a visit. Bodega Santa Cruz is just what everybody associates with Sevilla and then they offer good food at cheap prices compared with an excellent atmosphere. Here you can eat lots of different tapas and enjoying a few cold beers. Try the filled tortilla.
Barrio Santa Cruz also offers lots of sights and with Seville's famous Cathedral, situated in the middle of the neighborhood, it's a natural gathering place for both tourists and locals. Seville Cathedral is the world's third largest and it is also here that the famous explorer Christopher Columbus is buried. The cathedral is impressive and it is recommended to visit the Cathedral as the first thing you do in Seville, because you cannot miss this experience. It costs € 8.00 to enter and see the Cathedral and that will also allow you to walk up the church tower Giralda.
