GSMA Mobile Congress 2012 in Barcelona

Every year the GSMA Mobile Congress is held in Barcelona and in 2012 the congress will be held from 27th February – 1st March. It is the fifth time that the GSMA will be held in Barcelona and the city will host GSMA until 2018.


GSMA World which organizes the congress in Barcelona represents the interests of mobile operators around the world and they represent nearly 800 of the worlds mobile operators and over 200 companies including Internet, software, etc. in 219 countries.

At the GSMA Mobile Congress in 2012 there will be an opportunity to hear speeches from the GEOs from Telekom, Ericsson, Nokia and many other mobile operators worldwide. It is expected that 55.000 – 60.000 visitors will visit the GSMA Mobile Congress 2012 in Barcelona. See the GSMA Mobile website. 

Barcelona was on the 22nd July 2011 appointed as the first Mobile World Capital of the world and therefore the city has secured the right to host the GSMA Mobile Congress until 2018. After an 18 months search to find the perfect city GSMA finally chose Barcelona, which definitely will be of great benefits for Barcelona, Catalonia and Spain.

GSMA Mobile Congress 2013 has already been announced and will be held from 25th – 28th February 2013.

GSMA Mobile Congress 2012 will be held at Fira de Barcelona Gran Via.
