Aside from the internationally popular designers Victoria & Lucchino, who hail from Seville, there is an exciting crop of new designers coming out of Seville and they will be exhibiting next week at Seville’s Fashion Week.
The show kicks off with the inauguration ceremony on Monday at noon in the Casino de la Exposición. Followed on by a highly original and exciting catwalk show titled, ‘Casta Diva’ (Race or Caste Diva), in which models will parade the works of couturiers Luchi Cabrera and Petro Valverde to the dulcet tones of Opera music, one of the city’s most cultural treasures.
The evening show plays tribute to Madrid-born designer Agatha Ruiz de laPrada, who will receive a Dedication to Fashion award. During the day on Tuesday, there is an exhibition of the works of Pepín Castillo, held in the Camara de Comercia building (plaza de la Contratación 8), whilst the evening is hosting a very interesting event, an exhibition of hats and headdresses, which is to be held back at the Casino de la Exposición. The show is entitled Sevilla Por Montera and commences at 17.45h.
Two fashion shows from local designers takes place during Wednesday and in the evening a presentation of the Gremio de Maestros Sastres y Modistas (union of master tailors and designers) takes place. On Thursday, the final day, there are two Andalusian inspired shows and beautiful bridal fashion exhibition during the evening.
Entrance is free throughout the week and most of the events are being held at the Casino de la Exposición, Avenida María Luisa.
